Two recent moves by Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABI) have hit the local community recently, and they sparked the impetus to make a stand:
1) ABI, through its ownership of South African hop farms, cut off the supply of South African hops to all American brewers not in the ABI portfolio.
2) Golden Road, the LA brewery bought by ABI in 2015, is currently planning a beer garden in the Temescal neighborhood of Oakland, threatening locally-owned beer spots like Temescal Brewing and Hog’s Apothecary.
When we open at noon on Sat June 24, we will have on tap a few beers that some local friends brewed to highlight the issues. $1/beer will be donated to our local craft brewers guild (SF Brewers Guild): CellarmakerHoppiness is Fleeting on cask dry hopped with South African hops TemescalLocal Passion (made with S.
