Beer

Our aim is to have a beer for every palate.  The beer list is a comprehensive and balanced offering of the best representations available of as many styles of beer we can fit in the coolers.  There are 29 drafts, including a cask engine, several glass pour offerings (from the bottle), and an extensive bottle list of around 150 selections.

Vintage
Since our opening in December of 2007, we’ve been setting aside beers for delicate aging in the temperature and humidity-controlled cellar beneath the floor, under your feet. We’ve selected only beers that would improve over time and added them to the list at the peak of their development.

Ales

Old Guardian (Oak Smoked) (750 ml) Oak-Smoked Barley Wine Stone, Escondido, CA 11.4 $22.75
*Bottled: 2013 Crafted using a grain bill that’s one-fifth smoked wheat malt, it exudes a defined smolder in its aroma and flavor. That smoky character cuts through the hearty malt backbone, melding seamlessly with Warrior hops to create a semi-dry finish.

Double Bastard (750 ml) American Strong Ale Stone, Escondido, CA 11.2 $27.00
*Bottled: 2012 This is a lacerative muther of a beer. The evil big brother of Arrogant Bastard Ale. It is strongly suggested you stay far, far away from this beer. Those foolish enough to venture close enough to taste will experience a punishingly unforgiving assault on the palate. ’Course there’s always the masochists…

Sucre (750 ml) Blended Oak-Aged English Strong The Bruery, Placentia, CA 16.9 $58.00
*Bottled: 2013 The sixth addition to the Bruery’s anniversary series, Sucre is a huge oak-aged blend of all of the previous five anniversary beers, which creates a great deal of depth and complexity. At this ABV, only a beer of this caliber could drink this smooth.

Belgian Ales

Oude Orval (330 ml) Belgian Pale Ale w/Brett Orval, Villers-devant-Orval, BEL 6.9 $25.00
*Bottled: 2010 Aged Orval is in a whole other class than its fresh self. With five years in the cellar, this beer has had time to age into a extremely complex and never-ending well of depth that seems to change with every sip. Fuity, funky and bone-dry, this is a definite notch in the craft beer belt.

Arabier (375 ml) Belgian Strong Pale Ale De Dolle, Esen, BEL 8.0 $19.00
*Bottled: 2012 An arabier is a pure malt beer 8°vol/alc brewed with flower Nugget-hops from Poperinge. This beer has retained all of its natural carbonation and enough hop bitterness to compliment any dish.

Sours

Tiarna (375 ml) Oak-Aged Blended Blonde Allagash, Portland, ME 8.9 $38.00
*Bottled 2013 Tiarna is a blend of two beers, one aged in oak and fermented with 100% brettanomyces and the other fermented in stainless with a blend of two Belgian yeast strains.
Bottled 11 October 2013

Midnight Brett (375 ml) 100% Brett Wild Ale Allagash, Portland, ME 7.5 $38.00
*Bottled 2013 Chocolate brown in color, Midnight Brett, gets it name from the midnight wheat used in the malt bill. This funky dark sour seems to be where German Doppelbock aromas are balanced by a tart, fruity and dry mineral finish.

Consecration (375 ml) Cabernet Bbl-Aged Wild Ale w/ Currants _____Russian River, Santa Rosa, CA_10.0 $32.00
*Bottled 2013 Dark Ale aged in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels from local wineries. It is aged for 4 to 8 months with black currants, brettanomyces, lactobacillus, and pediococcus added to each barrel. Rich flavors of chocolate truffle, spice, tobacco, currants, and a bit of Cabernet.

Sanctification (375 ml) 100% Brett Golden Russian River, Santa Rosa, CA 6.7 $35.00
*Bottled: 2014 This is a Belgian-style Golden that is 100% fermetned with Brettanomyces–so technically it’s neither an ale or a lager. It is funky, and develops sourness/tartness over time.

Récolte Du Bois: 9 Month Barrel (12 oz) Cabernet Bbl-Aged Saison_Tahoe Mountain, Tahoe City, CA 6.2 $25.00
*Bottled: 2013 A very highly regarded and sought-after beer from the high Sierras when it was released, The 9 month Cab Barrel Saison has aged exceptionally well. It’s time in our cellar has added a ton of depth, acidity and dusty funk to the tropical fruit and cabernet overtones.

Récolte Du Bois: Saison Savoureuse (12 oz) Wine Bbl-Aged Saison w/Sage_Tahoe Mountain, Tahoe City, CA 6.2 $25.00
*Bottled: 2013 When first released the Savoureuse had an overwhelming amount of sage…Nothing a little cellar time can’t take care of. The Savoureuse is now really showing its wine barrel age, some brett funk, and bright fruity notes. The sage is still there but more as a tile in the mosaic.

Vielle: Batch 4 (375 ml) 100% Brett Oak-Aged Saison Crooked Stave, Denver, CO 4.2 $20.00
*Bottled: 2013 This one takes a minute to open up! Once it does, the floral notes take over the aroma as well as the smell of oak, dark chocolate and freshly turned dirt. On the palate Vielle is extremely dry with lots of mineral salinity and sour in the most earthy way. A very special beer.
Farmer’s Reserve No. 3 (375 ml) Wine Bbl-Aged Wild w/Strawberry & Nectarine Almanac, San Jose, CA 6.0 $25.00
*Bottled 2013 Known collectively as one of the best in the Farmer’s Reserve Series from Almanac, No. 3 has aged well over the last two years into a drier more mineral to fruit balanced beer. Tasting the No. 3 will give you a look into the past sours from Alamanc, when they were a little more subdued on the sour scale and other flavors in the beer can really shine. Great summer drinking!

Peche ’N Brett (750 ml) 100% Brett Saison w/ Peach Logsdon, Mt. Hood, OR 10.0 $53.00
*Bottled 2014 Hunted for by all good beer lovers, Peche ‘N Brett is one of those beers you will remember for years to come. Packed with more peach than any other beer out there, the creamy mouthfeel dovetails perfectly with the nicely measured tart dry finish.

Conversion (750 ml) Wild Fermented Golden Logsdon, Mt. Hood, OR 7.8 $43.00
*Bottled 2013 This very first truely wild fermented ale from Logsdon, marks the beginning of wild beers from Mt. Hood yeast strains. Made using the same coolship process of the great Belgian Lambics, Conversion has tons of lemon, bright green apple and tart stone fruit. The wild
Brett in the beer balances out the fruit with lots of rustic earth notes and adds to the dry finish.
