Wednesday Feb 11h Pliny the Younger Charity Event – 11am opening
One of the most sought-after beers made in this country. We get one keg of it, and it’s all going to charity. $10 for 10 oz. Cash only for the Younger—limit 2 pours/person. We will be opening our doors at 11am (one hour early) for this event, and you can guarantee there will be a line. Get there early.
Proceeds will go to a local charity called La Cocina, located in the Mission on Folsom Street: “The mission of La Cocina is to cultivate low-income food entrepreneurs as they formalize and grow their businesses by providing affordable commercial kitchen space, industry-specific technical assistance and access to market and capital opportunities. We focus primarily on women from communities of color and immigrant communities. Our vision is that entrepreneurs will become economically self-sufficient and contribute to a vibrant economy doing what they love to do.”
Thursday Feb 12th HenHouse / Drake’s “Rye Induced Fowl Play” Release Celebration
This is the second time that HenHouse and Drake’s have collaborated on this beer—kinda. This year’s version is a Weizenbock, half of which was brewed at their respective breweries, then aged in High West Rye barrels. [Last year’s version was a Belgian Strong Dark aged in Four Roses Barrels and was called “Bourbon Induced Fowl Play.”]
Additionally we will be pouring two beers from each brewery. From Drake’s, we will feature Hopocalypse (Double IPA), and Wild Hundo (Brett-fermented 1500 Pale Ale). From HenHouse we’ll be pouring Paid Vacation (Hoppy Saison), and Oyster Stout.
All beers will be tapped and available at noon. Brewers will be in-house from 4pm to 6pm.
Saturday Feb 14th Drink the Darkness Stout & Porter Fest – 12 noon opening
We will be celebrating stouts and porters by tapping about 20 different stouts, many of which have been resting in our cellar for years. Selections will include a five-year vertical of The Abyss from (2010-2014), 2012 Parabola, Perennial Abraxas, Imperial Biscotti, Imperial Doughnut, Bible Belt, and many others. All drafts will be $8 for a 6 oz pour.
Additionally, we will have Gary Fish, CEO of Deschutes, in-house for a meet and greet. We will be pouring a selection of limited (non-stout) Deschutes beers in addition to the Abyss vertical.
